Who Am I?
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) bringing over many years of experience to the coaching space. I have been trained through Postpartum Support International (PSI) from which I have gained specialized knowledge in the world of perinatal mental health and well-being.
I received my Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Maryland College Park and completed my Masters in Clinical Counseling at Johns Hopkins University. I enjoy spending time with my family (especially my 2 boys who keep me on my toes) and salsa dancing.
I have a passion for giving support to moms as it was something I wished I had when I was going through the ups and downs of what is called “The Fourth Trimester”. During my prenatal stage and post delivery, I got a lot of advice from friends, families and even seeing things on social media, but nothing prepared me for some of the hardships I went through. Pregnancy, child birth and postpartum looks different for everyone. For me, it felt like motherhood was suddenly on my lap, things changed all at once and it was a total shock to me. There were many feelings, situations and emotions I did not expect and had trouble managing them.
Reaching out for support, finding a professional/credible person to talk to, having a safe space to release the thoughts and emotions that burdened me and getting education on what I was going through was the best thing I did for myself during my postpartum stage. I hope all moms do the same for themselves and take that first step of reaching out.
